Creating Your DIY-Dating Website (Use Your Own Domain Name)
To create a website, you will first need to login to your main account and then either select option 1 from the main menu (create a new site) or select My Sites from the main menu and then select Create New Site or alternatively click here.
The first option you are presented with is a choice of what type of site to create. Currently we offer 4 types of website (normal dating, adult dating, gay only adult contacts and custom niche). Once you select your preferred site type you will then be asked to either use your own domain name or use a free sub-domain name that we supply to you. For this guide we will setup your own domain name, select use your own domain name on the left. You will now need to pick a name for your website.
Please note that you can create websites with or without the www. extension, so you could create a site either www.diydating.com or diydating.com notice the missing www. in the last example.

Once you have chosen a name for your website you will be shown your details and then be asked to select from a list of price plans, once you select a price plan you will not be able to change price plans unless you contact us to ask for it to be changed. After you select your price plan your site will not work until you configure the dns settings of the domain name.
You will need to configure your domain name so that it “points to us” however in order to do this you will either need to contact the company who you purchased the domain name from and ask them to set it up for you. The second method is to log into the account you have for the domain name and alter the dns settings for the domain name. For a tutorial on how to set up domain names purchased through www.123-reg.co.uk please visit this tutorial. In addition information for setting up your own domain name can be found here, and information for setting up a sub-domain of a domain name can be found here.
To view your dating site either visit the name of the site you created, e.g. If you called your site mydatesite.diydating.com, just type http://mydatesite.diydating.com into your browser and it will take you to your site, alternatively select editing from your main account menu and then click on the name of your website to visit it.
